Scheme of Work outline for our lesson plans in Year 4 Football Primary PE
Weeks 1-2:
Introduction to Football and Developing Physical and Mental Capacity
The first two weeks serve as an introduction to football and the development of physical and mental capacity. Students will understand the importance of football and the basic skills and rules involved. They will also learn about physical and mental preparation in football, which are crucial for performing football skills.
Week 3-4:
Developing Skills/Performance and Decision Making and Problem Solving
During weeks three and four, students will focus on developing their skills and performance in football and decision making and problem-solving skills. They will learn about the key skills and techniques required for football, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending. They will also learn techniques for making effective decisions and solving football problems, such as analysing opponents, developing strategies, and adjusting to changing situations.
Weeks 5-6:
Personal Development and Final Assessment
The final two weeks focus on personal development and final assessment. Students will have opportunities to develop their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills while playing football. In the final week, students will participate in a final assessment where they will receive feedback on their development in football and identify areas for further improvement.
